The City of Loudon is located along the Tennessee River in eastern Tennessee approximately 25 miles southwest of Knoxville off Interstate 75. It is the county seat of Loudon County.

The population as of the 2020 census was 5,991. The property tax rate is $1.0993 per $100 of assessed value.

The City of Loudon was incorporated in 1927. It is governed by a Mayor and four (4) Council members.

City Council Members


City Council meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (except December on the third Monday). Workshop meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are held in the council meeting room at Municipal Building, which is located at 2480 Highway 72 N. Meetings can be viewed as scheduled programming on the government access LCTV3 on the cable television system.
